Quantity Surveyor

ESTABLISHMENT OF NATIONAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION VACANCIES (ON CONTRACT BASIS) 

Applications are invited from qualified, dynamic citizens of Sri Lanka for the following position as per Management Services Circular No. 1/2019 of 15.03.2019 issued by the Ministry of Finance. 

Designation of Post:- Quantity Surveyor (PS4 - Category A)

Qualifications (i or ii or iii below) 

1. A Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying which is recognized by the University Grants Commission(UGC). OR 

A qualification recognized by the UGC as an equivalent qualification to the degree in the Quantity Surveying OR 

An Associate Membership / A similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the Quantity Surveying. OR 

Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 7 issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to Quantity Surveying. AND 

2. At least 05 years of post qualifying experience in the required area of specialization. 

Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the NVQ Level 6 , issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to the Technical field. AND 

3. At least 11 years post qualifying experience in the area of specialization of Quantity Surveying 

Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than the National Vocational Qualification Level 5 issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission for a post related to the Technical field. AND 

At least 16 years post qualifying experience in the area of specialization of Quantity Surveying. 

Salary Level PS 4- Rs . 90,000 / -

Competencies required for above post :

* Excellent interpersonal communication ( verbal and written ) and report writing skills in English . 

* Competency in AutoCAD and MS Project or equal 

* Computer literacy with thorough knowledge in MS Office packages. 

* Ability to work independently, in a team and manage multiple duties. Preference would be given to those who possess experience in foreign funded projects, competency in interpretation of Terms & Conditions and laws governing construction Contracts and report writing skills in English. 

Terms of Employment : Recruitment shall be made on full time contract basis for a period of one year and renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance. Place of employment shall be " Isurupaya " or the construction site at Narangalla .
